1. About Build-X

Build-X is an online hardware store based in Fochville, South Africa. We sell power tools, hand tools, accessories, and safety gear to contractors, handymen, and serious DIY buyers, with nationwide delivery across all nine provinces. By using our website and placing orders, you agree to the terms set out below. These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa, including the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 (CPA) and the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002 (ECT Act).

2. Products & pricing

All prices are displayed in South African Rand (ZAR) and include 15% VAT unless otherwise stated. Prices may change without notice. Product images are representative and may differ slightly from the actual product. All items are sourced from authorised suppliers and are genuine.

3. Orders & payment

Placing an order constitutes an offer to purchase. An order is confirmed once payment has been successfully processed and you receive an order confirmation email. We accept secure card payments via Peach Payments. We do not store your card information. If a product becomes unavailable after your order is confirmed, we will notify you and offer either a full refund or an alternative product. Business customers may request a VAT invoice at checkout.

4. Stock availability

While we do our best to keep stock levels accurate, items can occasionally become unavailable after an order is placed. If an ordered item is out of stock, we will contact you directly to arrange supply of the item or a suitable alternative. If we are unable to supply the item, you will receive a full refund. You are welcome to confirm stock availability via WhatsApp or email before ordering.

5. Delivery

Orders are processed and dispatched within 1 business day of payment being confirmed. Orders placed on weekends or public holidays are processed on the next business day.

We deliver to all nine South African provinces: Gauteng, Western Cape, KwaZulu-Natal, Eastern Cape, Limpopo, Mpumalanga, North West, Free State, and Northern Cape. We do not deliver to P.O. Boxes — a physical delivery address is required. We currently do not offer international shipping.

Shipments are fulfilled through BobGo using reputable South African courier services including TCG Connect, RAM Couriers, SkyNet, and Internet Express. Delivery costs and estimated times are calculated at checkout based on your location and the weight of your order.

Once your order is dispatched, you will receive tracking notifications via WhatsApp and email when your parcel is collected, out for delivery, and delivered. We are not liable for delays caused by courier services or for deliveries to incorrect addresses provided by the customer. If a delivery attempt fails, the courier will make a follow-up attempt. After multiple failed attempts the parcel may be returned to us and re-delivery costs will be charged to the customer.

6. Returns & refunds

If you are not satisfied with your purchase for any reason, you may return it within 30 days of receiving your order.

To initiate a return:

• Email us at onlinebuildx@gmail.com within 30 days of delivery
• Include your order number and the reason for the return
• Our team will review your request and respond within 2 business days
• If approved, you will be responsible for arranging and paying for return shipping
• The product must be returned in its original, undamaged condition with all original packaging and accessories

Once we receive and inspect the returned product, we will process your refund within 5 business days. Products showing signs of misuse, accidental damage, or that are missing parts are not eligible for return.

7. Warranty

All INGCO power tools sold through Build-X Online are covered by a 1-year manufacturing warranty from the date of purchase. The warranty covers defects caused by manufacturing faults. If your product fails due to a manufacturing defect within 12 months of purchase, we will replace it at no cost to you, including delivery of the replacement.

Before any warranty claim is considered, you must contact us first:

• Describe the issue in detail and include photos or a short video of the problem
• Do not return or send the product until our team has reviewed your claim and provided instructions

The warranty does not cover damage caused by misuse, accidental damage, normal wear and tear, use beyond the rated capacity, or failure to follow the product manual. Consumable parts such as brushes, blades, and grinding discs are not covered.

8. Privacy & data (POPIA)

Build-X Online is committed to protecting your personal information in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA). Our Information Officer can be contacted at onlinebuildx@gmail.com.

We collect the following personal information when you place an order:

• Full name and contact number
• Email address
• Delivery address
• Order and payment history (payment card details are processed and held by Peach Payments — we do not store card details)
• Device and browsing information collected automatically for analytics purposes

We use your information to process and fulfil your order, communicate order status and tracking, handle returns and warranty claims, and send transactional notifications. We send marketing communications only if you have opted in.

We share your information only where necessary: with Shopify (our platform), Peach Payments (payment processing), and BobGo and its courier partners (delivery). We do not sell your personal information to any third party.

Under POPIA you have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of your personal information, and to object to direct marketing. To exercise these rights, email onlinebuildx@gmail.com. You may also lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by South African law, Build-X Online's liability for any claim arising from a transaction is limited to the purchase price of the product in question. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses. Nothing in these terms limits our liability under the Consumer Protection Act.
