From Paint Mecca to Build-X
Built from the ground up —
just like you
We started as Paint Mecca — a family-run hardware shop in Fochville. Small town, hard-working community, real people with real projects to finish. We learned early that the right tool changes everything.
In 2019, we became Build-X — with a bigger vision. We wanted to bring pro-grade tools to every tradesperson in South Africa, not just the ones who could drive to Fochville. So we built the online store, we partnered with INGCO, and we started shipping nationwide.
WHAT WE OFFER
Every tool on this site earns its place
We’re a hardware store, not a catalogue. Everything we carry has been chosen because it works — for the weekend DIYer finishing a project and the contractor who can’t afford a job to go wrong. If we’re not confident in it, it doesn’t go on the shelf.
As proud partners of INGCO South Africa, we stock their full range of power tools, hand tools, accessories, and safety equipment. INGCO is one of the fastest-growing professional tool brands in the world — built for real work, priced for real people.
- Proud partners of INGCO South Africa
- Quality-checked before dispatch
- 30-day return policy on every order
- Manufacturer warranty on all tools
